The Voice and Actions of the Luis Cruz Martinez Educational Community against climate change

A comprehensive communication campaign on the commitment to trigger climate action of the educational community of Luis Cruz Martínez

The Luis Cruz Martínez educational community (CLCM) is a free school, with more than 600 students per year, where 93% of its students are considered within the National School Vulnerability Index (IVE). Located in Belloto Norte, Quilpué, Chile (South America), the educational community seeks to be a model in the region on Education for Sustainability. This community is part of the Municipal Corporation of Quilpué, the body in charge of administering and managing more than 26 establishments in the Commune.

Since 2019, the strategy of disseminating the message of “The voice and actions of the Luis Cruz Martínez educational community against climate change” was incorporated in the Education Plan for Sustainability. The strategy deals with a comprehensive communication campaign on the commitment to climate action and the presentation of information based on scientific data that generates awareness and effects it has on the community. It is part of the innovative educational project carried out by the Luis Cruz Martínez School which seeks to incorporate sustainability and environmentalization into its educational work transversally. The school develops an important environmental dissemination and promotion of sustainability aimed at the entire educational community (including family) and surrounding communities, using a wide variety of media such as: social networks, websites, participation in fairs, e-newsletters, press releases and even participation in the COP26 in Glasgow, Scotland in 2021.
